What our previous students say

I’ve been so lucky to have gained so much knowledge, including how to use tools like Salesforce, which is so useful as a transferrable skill to take into my career.

Kajal Modha, Technical Services

I was given a high level of responsibility throughout my placement year, and the constant customer communication on a day-today basis taught me not only how to build relationships with my colleagues but also with customers.

Joe Downes, Project Management

The best thing about Egress is the people! I’ve been learning new things since day one – it’s such a great environment for a placement student because you get to absorb so much from such a variety of people.

Life at Egress

It’s the culture that makes a company – which is why we run monthly socials for all our staff. You’ll quickly feel like part of the team, interacting with colleagues across the business while trying out fun and exciting events – even with the restrictions of COVID-19.

So whether you’re joining the Friday zoom quiz, tackling an online escape room or just meeting for a mid-morning online coffee, you’ll enjoy the social side of Egress just as much now as you would’ve done back in the office.

Pre-pandemic, every Egress office was a fantastic place to work. Now, with remote working the ‘new normal’, we’ve made sure that we’ve kept the great office atmosphere, wherever you’re working. Weekly all staff calls, our new ‘Home Working Legend of the Week’ award, and regular giveaways mean the Egress culture is definitely still in full flow.

Application process

Step 1: Apply

Please click on the role you wish to apply for from the list above and follow the steps through the online application. Please remember to submit a cover letter, as we cannot accept any applications without one.

For all business roles, applications will be open from 12th October until 12th December.

For all technical roles, applications will be open from December 2020 until January 2021.

Step 2: Telephone interview

At this stage, you’ll be invited to a telephone interview, which will typically last around 20 minutes. This will be a chance for us to ask some questions about your background and why you want to join Egress for your placement year.

For all business roles, telephone interviews will be scheduled between January and February 2021.

For all technical roles, telephone interviews will be scheduled between February and March 2021.

Step 3: Recruitment event

If you’re successful at the telephone interview stage, you’ll be invited to a recruitment event. This is a chance for us to meet you properly. At our events, conducted either in-person or online, we’ll ask you to complete a few individual tasks, as well as group tasks, and you’ll have a face-to-face interview with a member of the team.

For all business roles, recruitment events will be scheduled between February and March.

For all technical roles, recruitment events will be scheduled between March and April.

Step 4: Final interview

The final stage will be a longer interview with a member of our team to ask you some more in-depth questions about the role you’re applying for.

Final interviews will be scheduled a few weeks after the recruitment event.

Step 5: Starting at Egress

If successful, you’ll start in Summer 2021, with a short handover between you and the previous student.
