Environment
Recognizing that the climate and environment is both a global and local issue we wanted to look at different ways to reduce our impact.
Egress - baselining, reducing, offsetting and supporting local wildlife
We are all well aware of the climate crisis. Whichever side of the fence you sit on, whether you believe it or whether you are sceptical; whether this is simply just another phase of warming in our planet’s lifecycle or whether it is something existential, what we firmly believe at Egress is that it is clear humankind is not helping.
If someone is out of breath, you don’t make them keep running. You sit them down. Let them recover.
And to us that is the leveller. Minimise our impact and give our planet, our home, the room it needs to breath.
What we are doing at Egress
As a growth company we are dependent on third-parties in both the delivery of parts of our services and for the places that we call home – our offices. We understand that there are therefore limits to what we can achieve on our own in reducing our impact on the environment but, we recognise we still have a role to play in addressing the climate crisis and its real potential to fundamentally disrupt the environment and our ways of life.
There’s a saying that goes “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are”.
And that is what we intend to do. We are passionate about doing what we can now, and adapting as we grow so that we create a positive social, environmental, and economic impact.
Net Zero Programme
From October 2022, we are delighted to be working with Planet Mark to baseline our calendar year 2022 Scope 1-3 emissions. From here we will work with Planet Mark to then create our Net Zero Programme, aligned with the SBTi's Net-Zero Corporate Standard, in order to reduce our carbon footprint. Planet Mark is a sustainability certification that recognises continuous improvement, encourages action and builds an empowered community of like-minded individuals and businesses to make a world of difference.

Egress has also signed up to Tech Zero, a climate action collective for tech companies to hold one another to account and work together to shared sustainability goals as a sector.
Cutting carbon emissions will not only benefit Egress, but will also translate to a reduction in customers’ emissions, and will, therefore, have a positive impact across Egress’ growing customer base.
