What would I be doing as SEO & Digital Marketing Manager?

As part of the Digital team in the Marketing function at Egress, we are looking to hire a specialist in SEO to spearhead organic traffic growth and drive organic inbound customer interest and sales pipeline, with experience in working with corporate websites and Paid Media channels (PPC, Paid Social & Display).

The role will be based in London, and will have a remit to drive SEO, Web and Digital Marketing results as part of our Demand Generation engine.

The SEO & Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for top-to-bottom management of organic search, driving our SEO strategy, conducting site audits, keyword research, etc.  This includes, but is not limited to: defining goals, building content strategies and executing against plans to boost rank and grow organic traffic and revenue.  The SEO & Digital Marketing manager will implement SEO best practices and processes throughout the marketing department, as well as being responsible for the technical health of Egress.com. 

In addition to the primary SEO focus, there will be ample opportunity to work across other Digital Marketing channels (Paid Search, Email Marketing, Paid Social, and on web conversion and ecommerce optimization). The Digital team in the Marketing department is responsible for traffic & lead generation, website conversion and ecommerce - and this role will be a key part of our future growth.

Responsibilities include:

  • Driving the SEO roadmap across technical SEO, onsite optimization, content creation and link-building, in close collaboration with our partner agency and our marketing team.
  • Work as part of the digital team to align SEO efforts with PPC strategy and wider performance marketing initiatives (e.g. Paid Social, Email marketing)
  • Monitoring SEO performance, and understand which initiatives drive engagement and conversions, e.g. visibility, indexing, ranking.
  • Running SEO regular audits and performance reviews.
  • Tracking and reporting on Digital KPIs, managing and sharing regular reporting and insights.
  • Collaborate with web teams to implement technical & onsite SEO roadmap to hit targets.
  • Collaborate with content teams to set up a content creation and publication process, including optimizing search result listings to generate a higher CTR.
  • Manage and stay up to date with SEO tools, web technologies and Google’s (and other search engines) algorithm and how they affect SEO results.
  • Staying abreast of (and sharing) changes in search engine signals and market share

Would I suit this role?

Working closely with many parts of the Egress marketing team in London and Boston, the chosen candidate will need to be an SEO expert; motivated, independent, curious, as well as experienced with handling and processing data to inform actions & decisions. A desire to broaden skills into other areas of Digital Marketing is important.

The successful candidate will be someone who has demonstrated SEO experience, especially from a technical perspective, who stays abreast of SEO industry trends, and will find ways to respond and capitalize on these trends. The candidate will understand the connections between activities in digital channels, and use the Egress customer as the basis of their work and their decision making.

Skills & requirements:

  • Have at least 2 years of hands-on SEO experience. Technical SEO experience is required.
  • Experience optimizing websites to obtain prominent search rankings within keyword strategy.
  • Experience at/with a B2B company would be beneficial.
  • First-class analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable strategies.
  • Excellence with MS Excel and data visualisation tools.
  • Demonstrable understanding in cross channel measurement, tracking and attribution.
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics, Google Webmaster Tools and third-party keyword research and optimization tools (e.g. Ahrefs, SEM Rush, Screaming Frog, etc.).
  • Broad understanding of all digital marketing channels (PPC, Display, Social, etc.) is expected.
  • Be a self-starter keen to look for ideas to contribute to the marketing efforts, as well as be able to take direction from others in the department when appropriate.
  • Positivity, teamwork and being a part of our Marketing team culture is important!
  • Care about absolute attention to detail in all your outputs, such as emails, presentations, reports and documentation.
  • Must a strong communicator, both verbally and written
  • A passion for digital marketing and drive to stay up to date with digital trends and updates
