The Team
In this role you will have extensive opportunities to develop your skills, knowledge and experience in finance and in business working closely with a highly experienced VP of Finance and CFO as well as involvement with the wider leadership team.
Egress is a rapidly growing, vibrant business with offices in London, New York, Boston, Toronto and Brisbane and customers including some of the biggest brands in government, financial services, accountancy and, legal.
This role offers hybrid working with office time in our top-class London HQ in the heart of the London tech district near the many great independent restaurants, bars and retailers of Shoreditch.
We are looking for:
- An accountant in the early stages of their career post-qualification with aspirations to advance quickly

The Role
- Assist the VP Finance with monthly financial close process including general ledger maintenance and balance sheet reconciliations
- Act as a key point of contact for the external auditors during the year end process and ensure any recommendations are implemented in a timely fashion.
- Play a key role in the preparation of the annual Group accounts.
- Ensure effective compliance of accounting policies for the Group under FRS 102
- Ensure that all income and expenditure is correctly accounted for and reflected in the finance system.
- Working with the VP Finance on control of cost cycles; payroll, procurement, expenses and financial policy management
- Preparation and Submission of quarterly VAT returns and other additional compliance filings that arise
- Assist the VP Finance and CFO with Variance Analysis reviews
- Other ad hoc accounting duties as required
The Person
- Newly Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role
- Experience with multi-currency reporting
- Experience working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, preferably in a tech company
- Able to communicate clearly and build effective working relationships with team members and colleagues in other functions and within the wider business
- Methodical, diligent, accurate and accountable
- Strong organisational skills and ability to multi-task and deliver high quality work to deadlines
- Self-motivated and proactive - requiring little supervisory input on a daily basis
- Drive and determination to deliver outstanding results and identify and deliver continuous improvement as the company grows
