What do you get as a free user?
The benefits of being an Egress free user
Registering for a free Egress ID enables you to access Egress encrypted content that's been shared with you, as well as securely share information back. For example, with your free Egress ID, you can open Egress encrypted emails and attachments that have been shared with you, as well as initiate conversation with and reply to paying users free of charge.
When you sign up, you'll automatically receive 25 credits for our email encryption solution, so you can share content with anyone (not just paying subscribers). One credit is deducted per email address that's linked to another free account, and this doesn't affect communication with our paying customers.Create a free Egress ID
How do I access an Egress secure email or file?
To access a secure email or secure file transfer, you will need to sign up for an Egress account to get your ID. It will not cost you anything to sign up for an account, but you must use the same email address that the email / file was sent to, otherwise you will not be able to access the encrypted content.
For more information on accessing secure content, take a read of our simple quick start guides:
How many secure emails can I send for free?
If you are a free user, you get 25 free credits to send 25 secure emails to anyone. However, if you are contacting someone that already has an Egress secure email subscription, you can send them as many Egress secure emails as you like, free of charge.
For example, if you are contacted by an Egress customer who has a secure email subscription with us, you can reply to them for free and you can also write your own secure emails to that person without paying for a license of your own.
If communicating with other non-paying users, you will need to pay for a subscription if you wish to continue using the service, once you have used up your 25 free credits. You can find out more information about this on our licensing page.
