Urgent Switch Desktop Client security upgrade may be required

Users of the Switch Desktop Client are required to upgrade to version 4.81 or later to avoid security errors with the latest release of Windows 10.

A new release of Windows 10 – the Creators Update – is scheduled for release on Tuesday 11th April 2017. An issue has been identified when users upgrade to this new release and also use Switch Desktop Client version 4.71 or earlier. The error prevents connection and causes the following error to appear: ‘Secure32.dll is missing’.

Fixing this error

To fix this error, users must either:

  1. Downloading the latest version of the Switch Desktop Client (v4.81) via egress.com
  2. Contacting your Egress Technical Account Manager, who can help you to update registry keys
