As we support a growing global business, we were technologically well set up for large-scale remote working. Every member of the Egress Team is given a laptop when they start, those in roles that require travel also get mobile phones, and we had our VPN ready to go. In fact, we had stress tested our systems in advance and actually mandated remote working for all our staff a week ahead of lockdown in the UK and when stricter social distancing measures were introduced in the US.
And that made life easier operationally, for sure! But large-scale remote working has taken some time to get used to for many people, myself included.
