New: Trainee Support/Test Engineer

Location: London, Salary: £20k

The Egress Software Graduate programme provides a fantastic opportunity for graduates to begin their careers in the IT industry. We are looking to recruit graduates into our fast growing London office. This unique joint role will be split 50/50 between software quality assurance and customer support.

Successful candidates should be passionate about starting a career in IT and have a genuine interest in Quality Assurance/Testing. You will be responsible for software testing and supporting a fast growing customer base covering the financial, legal and government sectors.

Ideally having a Science or mathematical based degree or relevant commercial experience in Information Technology. You will require excellent communication and inter personal skills with the ability to work under your own initiative and as part of a team.

Some exposure to all or any of the following would be advantageous: MS Windows XP/Vista/8, MS Windows Server 2003/2008, MAC OSX, Office 2003/2007/2010, SQL, .net, C#. Java, C++.

Candidates maybe required to travel throughout the UK as part of their role.


Internal Account Manager

Required to work within different sectors and industries you will report directly to the UK Sales Manager and work in a team with other Internal/External Account Managers to help achieve individual and team driven targets.

You will be targeted and rewarded on generating leads, making appointments and closing revenue. You will spend 80% of your time on the phone generating interest and building customer relationships with an end goal of closing new business:

  • Achieve sales targets set each month by the Sales Manager
  • Maintain an agreed level of pro-active telephone contact and seek new business opportunities by targeting a combination of existing customers and prospective clients
  • Negotiate business and pricing terms with prospects
  • Generation of new sales leads and opportunities
  • Promoting Egress Products, Services, Training and Consultancy
  • Ensure all quotations are followed up accordingly
  • Discuss with customers and advise them the ways in which the software can be used to meet their requirements
  • Ensuring customer records are updated regularly via the company CRM system
  • Dealing with telesales enquiries and sending quotations and supporting literature out to new and existing customers
  • Research target accounts and competitors
  • Achieving targets and building a customer base
  • Meet and exceed the agreed performance objectives
  • Ensure all orders are received and processed accordingly
  • Assist with events & seminars


Technical Sales Engineer

Required to liaise regularly with various departments such as business development, research, software development, quality assurance, purchasing, and senior company managers. The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate a broad range of business and IT experience.

Responsible for any technical aspect of the sales cycle, alongside assisting in the product implementation process, key skills include:

  • BSc from an authorised institute
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent required
  • At least one year of experience in Customer Support
  • Thorough knowledge of at least two of the following fields: IT, Networking, System, DB, Programming, Security
  • Excellent communication skills and inter-personal skills, ability to work alone, enterprising and resourceful
  • Experience at offering after-sales support services
  • Experience making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs
  • End user training experience and producing support material for other members of the sales team
  • Experience in working with overseas customers an advantage

Business Development Manager

Responsible for the generation of new business and business development of a portfolio of products and services, the successful candidate will be a dynamic, go-getting individual that can demonstrate the ability to negotiate at all levels, work under intense pressure, and be determined to succeed. Required Skills:

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent required
  • At least 2 years experience selling high value software to named accounts within Financial Services or Telecommunications
  • Must have a proven record selling Systems Management, Service Management, Service Desk, Change Management, or Configuration Management software.
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, ability to work alone, enterprising and resourceful.
  • Experience of Customer Relationship Management Systems
