Infosecurity Europe 2016: Man v Machine. How can systems and users work closely together to mitigate human error and the accidental data breach?
London – June 2016 – Egress Software Technologies CEO Tony Pepper will be presenting in the Strategy Theatre on Day Two of Infosecurity Europe 2016, at 12:00pm.
Employees pose an undeniable and significant threat to the sensitive information held and processed by their organisation. With ICO data breach trends revealing that 93% of breaches are caused by human error alone and with a 66% increase in breaches across sectors in the last 12 months*, urgent remedy is required to better protect against this major security vulnerability.
This presentation will examine how the big data analysis and trend projections generated by information flowing into and out of an organisation can enable users to make informed decisions about where their information is being sent – for example, blocking access from foreign IP addresses on the knowledge that users should not be sending information abroad. Taking these insights, this talk will look at the growing role of technology to aggregate and analyse data so that greater information security and assurance can be applied to any exchange of information, reducing the opportunity for employees to cause a data breach, whether by accident or intentionally.
The presentation will take place in the Strategy Theatre on Wednesday 8th June at 12:00pm.
