Copywriter

Egress has an exciting story to tell – and we’re looking for someone to help us tell it! We’re seeking a tech copywriter to help us create a varied selection of content – from webpages and email campaigns, to blogs, reports and editorial.

Who are the Communications Team and what do they do?

Communications is part of the Corporate Marketing Team at Egress. We’re responsible for looking after Egress’ core message, and producing content to support both Corporate and regionalised Field Marketing initiatives.

Being part of the team means you have the chance to get involved in a lot of different things. It starts with the messaging strategy and core marketing campaigns that run across the global business. The team is also involved in working with Digital Marketing to ensure web content is well-written and providing the results we need. The team also produces the content for our regionalised Field Marketing teams – from email campaigns, to presentation synopses and decks, to written articles for syndication. We also work closely with our colleagues in Product and Product Marketing to ensure consistency of messaging across product collateral and customer communications. The Communications Team is also responsible for producing in-house white papers and reports, and the assets needed to publicise these (such as landing pages).

We also look after global PR to maintain a high share of voice, ensure consistency of messaging, and keeping Egress front of mind for our customers and prospects. This also includes building profiles for our founders, securing and placing case studies with the media, and coming up with creative ideas to get our message out.

Who would suit this role?

We’re looking for someone who has at least three years’ experience as a copywriter, preferably in-house.

We need someone who has a love of writing about technology and can write about it in a really engaging style. Even better, if you’re someone who has experience of doing this in cybersecurity.

This person needs to be highly creative, able to think about new ways to help people engage with Egress’ message.

We’re looking for someone who both write copy against a set brief and also come up with new ideas for other types of content we’re not yet creating or how to reposition existing content.

Of course, the person selected will need to be able to thoroughly grasp Egress’ corporate tone of voice, as well as be able to flex their style when writing on behalf of other members of the company.

Finally, we’re looking for someone who is a “do-er” and is proactive. The nature of in-house copywriting means you get to work with lots of different people and teams, and you will need to be able to manage the admin and communications around these interactions.

“Experience optimising content for SEO against keywords to help improve organic traffic to the Egress website.”

“Knowledge and understanding of content marketing and strategy.”

“Strong research skills.”

“Great organisation skills and ability to manage a varied workload.”

“BA in English, Journalism, Marketing or related field.”
