Sending Secure Emails

Now that Egress Switch is successfully installed on your computer, if you are using Microsoft Outlook, you will have the ability to send secure encrypted emails with ease. Egress Switch installs a new add-in into Outlook which, depending on what type of account you have will depend on what options are displayed.

Below we will demonstrate how the add-in will look depending on whether you are a Home user / Individual Professional or whether you are part of a Business Account.

Whether you are part of a Business Account or a Home user / Individual Professional, you will always see these 2 new icons displayed within Outlook when creating a new email (the icons may appear slightly different depending on the type of account that you have):

Package Restrictions allows you to optionally set a Valid From and Valid Until date on any information that you send. This is particularly useful if you have information which you would only like to be opened on a certain date or time and would like to expire after a certain period of time. Simply select when you would like to make your package available from, and decide whether you would like to have your package expire after a certain period of time.

Both these options are optional and can be changed at any given time, even once the package has been sent.

Once you have made your decision, click OK to move on.

After you have finished with the Package Restrictions, you can now select how you would like to send your email, i.e. in Plain Text (unencrypted) or encrypted. Displayed below are the different options available to you depending on what type of account you have. To send a secure email, simply select one of the below options and then press Send as you would normally to send an email:

Free Switch Account

As a Free Switch account user, you have access to the following settings:

Paid Switch Account

As a Paid Switch account user, you have access to the following settings:
