This latest version incorporates features that streamline enrollment and operation of secure data exchange for small and large organizations.

Highlighted new features include:

• Centralized Management
  Egress Server Infrastructure (ESi) is a web portal that provides access to all administrative features through a desktop or mobile browser. Multi-user accounts can be established and managed from the portal, and security activity can be monitored with drill down or reporting features.


• Role-based administration
  Administrative roles and elevated permissions can be assigned to designated accounts on ESi to enable segregation of duties. These include key recovery by security administrators or organization level auditing and detailed forensic investigation.


• Online billing for SME businesses
  A web interface is provided through ESi for pay-as-you-go and subscription management to cater to SME clients. Additionally, bulk user enrollment support makes getting started quick and easy.


• SharePoint, FTP, and HTTP Data Exchange Mechanisms
  Expanding on the ‘one click’ mantra to sharing information securely, data exchange mechanisms that publish to SharePoint, FTP, or web based file transfer have been added to simplify end user operation.


• Offline access
  Based on policy set by information owners and the recipient’s organization, access to the local package library can be made available even when connection to the ESi is not possible.


• Improved Usability
  Ribbon-style user interfaces have been incorporated into the Switch Package Creator and Package Library to streamline end user operation, both during and after the process of protecting sensitive information.

Egress Switch allows an information owner to package sensitive information using strong AES 256-bit encryption and send it to a recipient using any familiar method such as email attachment, CD or DVD, copied to a USB stick or transferred through the web or FTP. The owner can then set or change security policies independent of the package through a service in the cloud. Security policies can include authorizing recipients and limiting recipient use of protected information. Changes to security policies can be made in real time, even after the information is sent or shared. This allows a user to “pull information back” if it needs to be recalled.

Egress Switch also offers a complete view of when the information recipient has opened or used the shared information, as well as unauthorized access attempts, providing an important audit trail. The owner can then easily track activity of their shared information through logs arranged by package or recipient.
