The recognition is a testament to Egress' dedication to creating an environment that is conducive to healthy and productive working, as well as its commitment to helping employees build successful and sustainable careers. This marks the second year that the company has been listed on the Best Workplaces for Wellbeing list and solidifies its place as one of the top employers in the UK.

Key wellbeing highlights from the survey include:

  • 87% of team members who feel that people care about each other
  • 79% look forward to coming into work each day
  • 74% of employees agree that Egress is a psychologically and emotionally healthy place to work

This recognition is based entirely on anonymous employee feedback compiled by Great Place to Work®. The survey asked employees to comment on how their company supports their work-life balance, sense of fulfilment, job satisfaction, psychological safety, and financial security. Evaluations also included an assessment of how well the organization was able to deliver consistency of their employee experience across all departments and seniority levels.

92% of Egress employees reported feeling they could take time off work when they felt it necessary, while 79% reported feeling encouraged maintain a healthy work-life balance. The company introduced several initiatives to support this, such as flexible working and paid time back, increased holiday entitlement and an enhanced maternity package. These initiatives created an environment that encourages physical and mental well-being, whilst enabling employees to better manage their home and work lives. In 2022, Egress also introduced eFlex, a scheme that enables employees to flexibly take up to 15 additional days of paid leave throughout the year.

Egress believes in fostering an atmosphere of mutual respect, care, and collaboration. The founder-led organization has a strong commitment to ensuring everyone feels valued and supported. This spirit of inclusion and the culture of listening to its people is reflected in the 87% of team members who feel that people care about each other and the 79% who look forward to coming into work each day.

74% of employees agree that Egress is a psychologically and emotionally healthy place to work. This is due various initiatives from setting up a mental health first aid team and providing private health insurance, to providing a comprehensive learning and development programme and hosting quarterly social events. The company's employee assistance program also provides free, confidential counselling services to ensure that staff are supported.

Last year, the company also took the opportunity to review and reinvigorate their values, creating a set that reflects the beliefs of their founders and resonates with their employees. To ensure these core values are regularly discussed, Egress have introduced an OnPoint values recognition platform, giving employees rewards for living the values. Finally, Culture Club, a volunteer group made up of passionate employees, organises events and socials to promote diversity, inclusion, and psychological safety.

“Nothing is more important to us than our employees' wellbeing and success, and we’re incredibly proud to have our efforts recognized for fostering a healthier workplace by ranking 34th on the large organizations list,” comments Laura Probert, Chief People Officer at Egress. “Our culture is built on passion and understanding, with an emphasis on autonomy and work-life balance.
