Egress Switch available via G Cloud 5 framework

London – May 2014 – Egress Software Technologies, the market-leading provider of Cloud-based encryption services, has been accepted onto the G-Cloud 5 Framework, the UK Government’s programme committed to encouraging the adoption of Cloud services across the Public Sector.

As the first, and currently only, provider to offer a Government (CESG) CPA Foundation Grade certified email encryption product, Egress Switch enables Public and Private Sector customers to share IL2 and low-threat IL3 data (OFFICIAL and OFFICIAL SENSITIVE under the new Government Classification Policy) over the internet, without the need to manage external third party credentials. By leveraging a combination of Cloud-based and on-premise infrastructure, Egress Switch delivers a single ‘open’ communication platform that enables users to securely share all forms of electronic information, regardless of the network or mail system they are part of, or the constraints created by organisation size and budget.

Through the G-Cloud Framework, Public Sector organisations will be able to procure the following Egress Switch services: Switch Secure Email, Switch Secure File Transfer and Switch Secure Web Form via a number of Egress value added resellers (VARs). VARs include: Aristi Ltd, Bytes Software Services, Capita Business Services Ltd, Caretower Ltd, Softcat Limited, Software Box Limited and TrustedIA Ltd.

Commenting on the announcement, Egress CEO Tony Pepper stated: “Since we were first successfully accepted onto the G-Cloud 1 Framework, we have seen the demand for Cloud-based services by Public Sector organisations grow rapidly. The efficiency, costing saving and scalability benefits of the Cloud are now widely acknowledged across industry, and with the events of the last 12 months putting data security high up the procurement decision-making agenda, we anticipate an even great interest in our Cloud-based encryption services.”

“Now in its fifth round, G-Cloud 5 represents an important procurement route for many of our key customers and partners. I am therefore delighted to see a number of our leading partners submitting Egress Switch services as part of their G-Cloud offerings. Working closely with these partners and our public sector customers, we plan to continue to deliver cost-effective encryption services that protect the highly sensitive information organisations share with external third parties outside their accredited networks.”

About G-Cloud

G-Cloud is a UK Government initiative to encourage the adoption of Cloud Services across the whole of the Public Sector. Our aims are to simplify how the Public Sector buys and delivers services by creating a marketplace of pay-as-you-go commodity services that can be easily scaled up or down, based on the changing needs of a business and its users.

The Programme is not just about IT, it’s about changing perceptions and encouraging a Cloud first approach; it’s about providing the right tools to help the business unleash innovation from the front-line and from citizens; it’s about helping a business become more flexible, agile and responsive to changing needs. The technology and the means to use it are here, so we must embrace change, start experimenting, share our experiences and not be afraid to be one of the first to go Cloud.
