What is the difference between the Switch Client and the Switch Reader?

The Switch Client is the installable Switch application.  After you have installed and signed in using your Switch account you will be able to create, send and manage Switch packages.

If you only need to open a Switch package, or do not have administrator rights to install the Switch client, then the Switch Reader will just "click-and-run". You can copy Switch Reader to a USB flash drive and carry it around with you too.

To ensure you can open Switch packages wherever you go, the Switch Reader has been designed to require minimal system requirements.  All you need to run it is a PC running a modern version of Microsoft Windows. We recommend Microsoft Windows XP or later.
